Pedigo is a physical biochemist, a field that spans from the fundamental principles of chemistry to their application in physiology. Her research interests are:

• the molecular determinants that impart the striking differences in the calcium-dependent dimerization kinetics between classical cadherins,
• diversification and application of a novel calmodulin-based biomaterial, a new endeavor that is being actively pursued in diverse, parallel projects, and
• molecular-level understanding of food biochemistry that support students’ academic and cross-cultural interests.

The Pedigo laboratory welcomes student researchers to engage interdisciplinary projects that actualize their academic knowledge through hands-on experiences in the laboratory.
