Pedigo has been devoted to teaching the majors biochemistry core classes for the last two decades. Her commitment to these courses arises from the intersectionality of the content, and the range of the science from the properties of atoms to human physiology. The three major emphases of her teaching career have been:

  • Writing of science of as an essential experience to ensure ownership of concepts.
  • Comparing molecular concepts to our personal experience as living beings.
  • Considering the implications of chemical concepts on the larger questions facing humanity.

She intends to continue to explore intersectional topics that challenge her students to ask questions about the mysteries of the world like they did when they were children.
